Happy Birthday .. to Me!

Today is my birthday - I turn 25. WOW...I feel like it was my 21st birthday just a year ago. Time really does FLY as you get older!

With that being said...today was a GLORIOUS day. =) I got to work and my coworkers had decorated my cube with balloons, streamers, and a big Happy Birthday sign. Later in the afternoon, we went to lunch and Randall joined us for the festivities - followed by a big chocolate and strawberry cake! This evening, Randall and I ordered food and had dinner and drinks on the back patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather just the two of us and our sweet doggies! The family is officially celebrating the day I came into this world on Sunday - with lunch and bowling - I am really excited! I opened my presents tonight and got a sweater and pair of shoes I have really been wanting, a gift card to Pottery Barn, a pair of earrings and a necklace, items from Southern Living for my kitchen, a book, and lots of money (of which I am going to buy a new Coach purse, some perfume, and a CHI iron for my hair). I am really spoiled!

I just want to thank all my family and friends who have sent me birthday wishes. I love you all more than you know and you are all so special to me!

That's how rumors get started....

Tonight Tyler and Casey decided to come over to the house to see Randall's new glorious car (pics to come later). So to celebrate the occasion I ordered some pasta from Pizza Hut.

When the pizza guy came to the door he immediatly said "Sooo something crazy is going on at the end of your street" to which I replied "Really, what is it?" I glanced to the end of the cul-de-sac and there was a fire truck and three cop cars! Cool....nothing exciting ever happens in the quiet suburbs!

The pizza guy then informed me not to worry - that he was going to go check it out. AWESOME. After I signed the receipt for the pasta and sat it on the table...I headed out to the front yard. But not to worry ... my investigative pizza guy was already to the end of the cul-de-sac and practically in the front yard of the house with all the commotion. Great! My pizza guy will find out the scoop for me without me looking like a nosey neighbor!

The pizza guy then returned to my yard with the news.

"A lady came out of the house crying. Somebody is totally DEAD or hurt real bad."

WHAT! Oh my gosh....thats HORRIBLE .... I must see if they are ok! Then I saw the girl that lives across the street from me walk back from the house. I immediately ran to her and asked if everything was ok.

"Oh yea, everything is fine. Her oven just exploded."

So thats why she was crying? Her oven exploded? It is so funny to me how a crying woman means that somebody must have died. Clearly my pizza guy is a conspiracy theorist. I like him.

UTEP vs. Texas

Apparently, for some observers, the game got pretty boring during the final half and they had to find other things to do to occupy their time. HAHAHA

Political Observations

It seems that I have picked a good time to start my blog with all that is going on in the news and world - specifically the election of our next president. I have a lot to talk about. Like FOX News I try to be fair and balanced - with that being said here are some observations I have had over the past week:

1. The media is going to put McCain and Palin in the White House.
Here is why: The media is attacking Palin so hard in her personal life and focusing on everything BUT the issues- that it is creating a huge backlash by not just women but some democrats as well! People are getting so angry at the way she is being treated that they are voting for the Republican ticket. If I were working for Obama I would be calling up all the news stations and tell them to shut-up because the harder they attack her....the higher the ratings go up for McCain!

2. McCain was very good looking back in the day.

3. Obama has to be the best public speaker I have ever seen.

4. Oprah should have kept her mouth shut - now none of the conservative hockey moms are going to watch her show anymore - most of which got her where she is today.

5. US Weekly is not a reputable news source.

6. Why are people questioning Palin's ability to be a mother and the VP? You would never hear that question asked about a man!

7. Is anyone really going to listen to a crazy-looking guy from England when he tells Americans who to vote for president on the VMA awards?

8. John McCain's daugher Meghan has a really cool blog: www.mccainblogette.com

9. I feel sorry for Bristol Palin - people are being so mean!

10. Dr. Phil is a Republican

11. The next 60 days are going to be very exciting!
